Obituary for Tami Fayne Smith

Tami Fayne Smith, 64, of Americus died Thursday, March 14, 2019 at his home. A native of Americus, he was born August 13, 1954 to the late Ambrose Jackson Smith and Patsy Ruth Miller Smith. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Americus. He was employed with Oxford Motor Co for eighteen years and more recently delivered for Council on Aging’s Meals on Wheels program. His hobbies included yard selling, flea marketing, playing softball and bowling.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Americus with Rev. Keith Parks officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Geneva Ricard of Americus; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Dr. Jessica Brown and her husband Chad of Americus, Tiffany and Josh McPherson of Dawsonville; and Tami Ricard Smith of Kennesaw; and a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Susan Smith of Perry. Also surviving is a brother and sister-in-law, Jacky and Carol Smith of Richland; eight grandchildren: Hannah Smith, Bailey Smith, Kolton Garner, Carsen Garner, Piper Grace Brown, Peyton Brown, Colton McPherson, and Izzy McPherson; and his beloved dog, Poky.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Rials.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sumter Humane Society, 108 Industrial Blvd., Americus, GA 31719.

Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.
