Mary Walker Almon Niblack
Mrs. Mary Walker Almon Niblack, age 66, of 105 Lullwater Lane, Americus, died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at her residence. A native of Americus, Mrs. Niblack was born June 23, 1943, the daughter of the late James and Mary Almon. Mrs. Niblack retired in 2005, after 45 years of service as an accounting supervisor from Sumter Electric Corporation. She was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church of Americus where she was active in the Wesley Sunday School Class and also a member of the WMU. Mrs. Niblack was very active in Relay for Life, a supporter of The League of the Good Samaritans at Magnolia Manor, and she enjoyed quilting, knitting and reading.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Jim Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, March 29, 2010, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel from 6 until 8 PM. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Americus and Sumter County, P.O. Box 1434, Americus, Ga. 31709 or to The American Cancer Society, c/o Ann Harris, 1801 Rose Avenue, Americus, Ga. 31709.
Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Fletcher Findlater of Phenix City, AL.; a step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Lora and Michael Miller of Buena Vista; three grandchildren, Riley McGuire of Macon, Lindley McGuire of Buena Vista and Mic Miller of Buena Vista; two nephews, John and Linda Findlater of Phenix City, AL. and Jim Findlater of Phenix City, AL. Great nieces and nephews, Tyler Findlater, Ann Marie Findlater and Audrey Findlater. Mrs. Niblack was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Niblack on February 17, 2010.
