Sheila Fulghum, age 71, of Americus, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Sheila was born December 2,1950 to Calvin and Virginia Tucker in Savannah. She had a love for animals. She helped her husband operate Fulghum’s Pawn Shop for many years. Her family was always first for her.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with a visitation an hour prior to service with Bro. Damon Fountain officiating. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will include Miller Bakkar, Kelly Smith, Chuck Mays, Steven Avery, Jonathan Avery, and Justin Shealy. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Faircloth and Michael Bakkar.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years Melvin Fulghum of Americus; mother Virginia Tucker of Leesburg; daughters and sons-in-law Melanie & Mike Bakkar of Macon; Melissa Shealy of Jay, FL., Deavie & Donald Tanner of Jay, FL., and Kristi Graham; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce & Harry Weisner of Leesburg; grandchildren, Michelle Allen, Erin Allen, Justin Shealy, John Shealy, Matt Shealy, Steven & Hailey Avery, McKenzie, Michael, and Miller Bakkar, Justin Graham, and Faith Graham; great-grandchildren, Calvin Hall, Brayden Hall, Liam Avery, and Adalynn Raben; also surviving are niece and nephew, JK Duren and Calvin Duren; and great nieces, Kendyl and Emma Duren.
She is preceded in death by her father Calvin Tucker.
