Olin Hargrove

Olin Lance Hargrove, 84, passed away February 17, 2023 at Decatur Morgan Hospital in Decatur, AL. He was born in Dooly County Georgia on August 9, 1938 to the late John Cullen Hargrove and Elizabeth Wiggins. Olin graduated from Union High School in Leslie Georgia. He served in the National Guard as well as worked for the Georgia DOT as an engineer and retired after 25 years. 

Olin “Coot” Hargrove was a beloved son, Father, Brother, Uncle and friend.  To know him was to love him.  His smile could light up a room.  We will miss him beyond measure but know we will see him again!  

A Visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, 2023 at the Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel from 5PM to 7PM. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Hepzibah Cemetery in Byromville, GA at 11:30 AM with Rev. Mark Carter officiating.

Survivors include his son Shannon Day Hargrove, wife Francie and children Charles and Beau of Cashiers, NC; his daughter Quay Lively, husband David and children Dolly, Lucy and Jack Henry of Decatur, Alabama; his sister Bettie Mooney of Americus, GA; he was also survived by many nephews & nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Pete, Charles, Buck, Johnny & Sant and his sister Iris Hargrove.
