Neon Earl Bass Jr. passed away Sunday March 10, 2024 surrounded by family in
Fairhope, Alabama. Earl was a resident of Leslie, Georgia and Orange Beach, Alabama.
Earl is predeceased by his parents, Neon Earl Bass Sr. and Jane Laramore Bass, as
well as his brother Larry Wade Bass. Earl is survived by his wife Lana Crumpton Bass and two
children Patrick Earl Bass (Lori) and Christina Bass Dismukes (Jim), his five grandchildren,
Talley, Patrick, and Banks Bass, and Lana and Jim Dismukes, his sister Jane Marie Bass, and
sister and brother-in-law Tami and Ricky Duke.
Born on June 13, 1946, Earl grew up in Leslie, Georgia and attended Georgia
Southwestern University. Earl was a farmer who always had a zest for the outdoors. He farmed
everything that could grow in South Georgia, but his impact on the peanut industry was
unprecedented for decades. His farming career started in 1970 and he retired from farming in
2001. During this time, he always gave back to his local Leslie community.
Earl was an avid outdoorsman and spent much of his time hunting, fishing, and
entertaining. The outdoors was his true passion that he passed down to his children and
grandchildren.
Earl attended Calvary Episcopal Church and was a member of the Leslie Methodist
Church. He was an avid reader of The Bible.
Earl leaves us with so many wonderful memories of time spent doing all of the things he
loved. With gratitude, we remember his life and all that he accomplished.

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Leslie, GA at 2PM with Steve Patton officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
Mt. Zion Cemetery is located 2.7 miles SW of Leslie off Hwy 118, Turn left on Dirt County line Snead Rd. go .2 miles and cemetery will be on the left.
