Janice (Bentley) Jones

Janice Jones, age 82, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.

Janice was born in Atlanta Georgia to the late James Bentley and Louise Tyson Bentley on July 25, 1940. She was an active member of Central Baptist Church and sang with the Silvertones choir. Through the years she was active as a Sunday school teacher, youth group leader, and with The Day He Wore My Crown production.  She was a retired secretary for Life of Georgia Insurance Company as well as a clerk with the Sumter County Probate Court.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 12, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Central Baptist Church in Americus, GA. A visitation will be held one hour before the service at Central Baptist Church. A burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by her husband Gary E. Jones of Americus, GA; her sons Greg Fowler (Missy) of Stanley, NC, Andy Fowler (Carla) of Nicholson, GA; her daughter Wendy F. Turner (Greg) of Americus, GA; her grandchildren Allison F. Saunders(Matt), Eian Fowler(Kelsey), Colby Fowler, Mikaela Fowler, and Mackenzie Fowler; her great grandchildren McCoy Fowler, Walker Fowler, Sarah Kate Saunders, and Carson Saunders.
