Obituary

Mr. James Willis Norman, age 81, of Preston, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. Norman was born March 10, 1940 to the late Johnnie and Elizabeth Norman. James received his GED while he was in service with the Navy. He was a truck driver and dispatcher for Ben Kennedy Trucking.

A memorial service will be held at Ebenezer Primitive Baptist Church lunchroom in Preston Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 1:00 pm Interment will follow at Poplar Springs Cemetery in Centerpoint.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years Mary Ann Norman; two sons, Paul Norman; and Daniel Norman (Andrea); his favorite daughter, Beverly Morris (Roy); one sister Dorothy Tyson; and one brother, Johnny Eugene Norman; six grandchildren, Jennifer Patterson Culpepper (John); Molly Parks Le (Brian); Katie Smith (James); Emma Norman; Monica Aday (Blake); and Austin Coke (Paige); also surviving are four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who saw him as a father figure.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Columbus Hospice at 7020 Moon Rd. Columbus, GA. 31909.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by three of his sisters, Bessie Harden; Beatrice Reynolds; and Patricia Norman; two brothers, Chester Ray Norman; and Waistel Norman; and one grandson, Richard Patterson.
