Gerald Stephen Stovall, of Americus, Georgia, He was admired by colleagues, friends, relatives, and his church family. Many refer to him as “Jerry” or “Stovall”.
He attended high school in Atlanta, and graduated from North Olmstead High School in Ohio. He graduated from the University of Georgia law school summa cum laude. He received a Master of Library science from the University of Alabama. He once called Vidalia, Georgia home, but settled in Americus, Georgia. There he was a member of Central Baptist church, and he was Library Services Director at South Georgia Technical College for over a quarter century.
He is the son of the late George Edward & Sylvia Westbrook Stovall. He is the brother of the late George Edward Stovall, Jr. He is survived by his siblings Connie (Wayne Freeman) and their sons Todd and Brian; George Jr.’s wife Cathy, and their daughter Amber and son George, III; his sister Christine Stovall, and her daughter Julia.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Central Baptist Church in Americus at 2pm with Dr. Bryan Myers Officiating. Visitation will be held from 1pm-2pm.
