William Ronnie McCrary, age 66, of Americus, died September 12, 2019, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. A native of Americus, he was born January 2, 1953 to the late Carl Bryant McCrary Sr and Frances McCrary. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Leslie. Mr. McCrary was a retired Captain with the Americus Fire Dept. After retiring, he worked at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, Magnolia Manor and Middle Flint in Americus. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. William Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 4:00-6:00 P.M at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers include the Fire Dept Honor Guard. Survivors include his daughter, Catherine (Stephen) Tanner of Plains; one sister, Nancy McCoskey of Jacksonville, FL; four brothers, Buddy (Sharon) McCrary of Americus, Jerry (Margaret) McCrary of Hiawassee, Joe (Aleta) McCrary of Fountain, FL., and Rusty (Stacey) McCrary of Boynton Beach, FL., one grandchild Harold Tanner and two great-grandchildren Drew Tanner and Dakota Tanner. He is preceded in death by his wife Donia Thrasher McCrary, a daughter Martha Renea McCrary, and a brother, Andy McCrary. The family suggest memorial donations to be made to Americus Fire Dept 119 S.
