William Billy Luther Kobs Mr. William Billy Luther Kobs, age 58, of 155 Williams Rd., died at his residence Friday evening, June 25, 2010. A native of Americus, Billy was born July 22, 1951, the son of Adolf and Dora Kobs. Billy started Kobs Pools in 1969 with his father. He was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing on his property. Billy enjoyed hunting expeditions with his son Kent and deep sea and trout fishing with his buddies. Billy loved his grandchildren. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He liked cruising and enjoyed his roses and yard work. He was most content when working with the pool business and heavy equipment. Billy was a faithful contributor to St. Judes Childrens Hospital and the Georgia Sheriffs Youth Home. Graveside services will be held Monday, June 28, 2010, at 10:00 AM at Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Curtis Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 27, 2010, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel and other times at 155 Williams Rd. Honorary pallbearers will be Brent McGee, Jason McGee, Buster Kitchens, Jim Goodman, Eddie Bryant, Russell Johnson, Ken Daniel, Rick Edwards, David Bankston, John Beaver and Johnny Womack. Memorial contributions may be made to United Hospice of Cordele, 407 E 16th Ave., Cordele, Ga. 31015 or to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN. Survivors include his wife, Tina Kobs of Americus; his mother, Dora Kobs of Americus; his daughter, Leslie Anne Kobs of Americus; his son, Kenton Kent William and wife Kristy Turner Kobs of Americus; his step-son, Stevie Lowery of Americus; his brother, Freddy and wife Diane Kobs of Dorchester, SC.; three sisters, Martha and Curtis Johnson of Evans, Joyce and Derrell McGee of Albany, Freida and Jimmy Davidson of Bethlehem; a half sister, Gloria and Eddie Pearson of Roanoke Rapids, NC; two grandchildren, Landon Spivey and Sydnee Kate Kobs; a mother-in-law, Marie Brooks of Sylvester; a father-in-law, Frank and Gloria Price of Homosassa, FL.; two dogs, Scout and Rudy and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Adolf Kobs and his sister, Beth Beaver. Memorials: United Hospice of Cordele, 407 E 16th Ave., Cordele, Ga. 31015 or to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, P.O.
