Mr. William Jeffery "Jeff" Cavender, age 73, of Americus died on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, due to complications of COVID-19. Mr. Cavender was a native of Americus and was born August 24, 1947 to the late Mutt and Polly Cavender. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mr. Cavender was employed with Shiver Lumber Company for 53 years and when not working, he could be found golfing and fishing. He was a family man who loved to follow his children and grandchildren and seeing their accomplishments. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Steve Golden officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Brenda Cavender of Americus; a son Jeffery Cavender(Cindi Gardner) of Americus; a daughter, Dee Studdard(Todd) of Americus; three grandchildren, Kayleigh Vickers(Cody), Chandler Studdard, and Eva Grace Studdard; one great-grandchild, Carson Vickers; brother Gary Cavender(Antoinette) of Villa Rica; sister Shelia Johnson of Poulan; brother-in-law, Allen Smith(Peggy); sister-in-law, Beth Denney; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
