Wanda Kay Douglas Fletcher, age 72, of 724 Bob Dodson Rd., Plains, died at Lillian Carter Nursing Home Monday, October 7, 2013. A native of Nichols, GA., she was born April 18, 1941, the daughter of the late John Quarterman and Thelma Bera Meeks Douglas. Mrs. Fletcher was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Americus and a loving wife, great cook and enjoyed painting. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 12, 2013, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Will Archibald officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel . The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1512-1 Gillionville Rd, Albany, Ga. 31707. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Larry Fletcher of Plains; two daughters and son-in-law, Tami Fletcher Blount and Barry of Americus and Kristi Fletcher Garland of Dothan, AL; a son, John Michael Fletcher of Cottonwood, AL; two brothers, J.D. Douglas of Jesup and Donnie Douglas of Germany; four grandchildren, Katie Fletcher, Becky Fletcher, Adam Saint and Cameron Garland; and two great grandchildren, Kate Saint and Kylie Saint.
