Mrs. Vivian Settles Williams, age 85, of 2124 Hwy 280 West, Plains, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Sumter Regional Hospital. A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Williams was born October 9, 1923 daughter of the late Ollie Ernest Settles and Maude Barrentine Settles. She was a retired social worker with the State of Georgia and a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Sumter Retirement Village, 2124 Hwy. 280 West, Plains, Georgia 31780. Survivors include one daughter, Deborah Brandon of Americus; one son, John Williams of Opelika, Alabama; one brother, Jack Settles of Cuthbert; one grandchild, Judson Brandon and one great-grandchild, Ellie Brandon.
