Virginia Mae Buchanan, age 93, of 332-D Buchanan Rd., Plains died Thursday. August 13, 2015, at her residence. A native of Buena Vista, she was born May 12, 1922, the daughter of the late Lewis and Pearl Nation Brock. Mrs. Buchanan was a member of Grace Community Church and loved working in the yard and growing flowers. Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 3:00 PM at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Hill and Rev. Sammie Curry officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, August 14, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimers Association, South Georgia Regional Office, 225 E. 2nd St., Tifton, GA 31794. Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Ethel Bivins of Plains and Evelyn and Sammie Curry of Plains; two sons and daughter-in-law, Marion and B.J. Buchanan of Plains and Nathan Buchanan of Plains; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion "Teck" Buchanan in 1983.
