Velma F. Barron Velma F. Barron, age 82, of 147 New Era Rd., died at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center Sunday, February 02, 2014. A native of Lodi, IN, she was born October 5, 1931, the daughter of the late Patterson Grimes and Myrtle Moler Barker. Mrs. Barron lived in Putnam County, IN most of her life and worked as a CNA at Putnam County Hospital. She also lived in the Knoxville, TN area for many years. She was a homemaker who loved to garden and travel. She also was a member of Greater Vision Baptist Church. A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2014, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Services will be held Friday, February 7, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens in Church Hill, TN with a visitation to be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Church Hill Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Greater Vision Baptist Church, 135 New Era Rd., Americus, GA 31709. Survivors include her husband, Eugene Barron of Americus; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda J. O'Brian and Bill of Greencastle, IN; a son and daughter-in-law, Randall Wain Barron and Deb of Americus; a half-brother, Lodell Barker of Christman, IL; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
