Mr. Thomas "Tom" Roland Harris, 71, of Georgetown, died Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center. Mr. Harris was born October 23, 1945 in Americus to the late Howell Harris and Frances Mashburn Harris. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served as Deputy Sheriff in Wakulla County, FL for many years. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 19th, at Andersonville National Cemetery. His brother-in-law, Lloyd Shaddix, will officiate the service. Survivors include his wife, Josephine Harris of Georgetown; a daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Chris Ruiz of Aumsville, OR; a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Kim Harris of Peoria, IL; two sisters; and three grandchildren. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Phoebe-Sumter Hospice, P.O. Box 1434, Americus, Ga 31709. Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel is in charge of these arrangements.
