Thomas Tommy Eugene Davis, age 63, of 212 Howard Johnson Rd., Americus, died Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. A native of Gray, Ga., he was born January 21, 1947 the son of the late James Lamar Davis, Sr. and Lois Virginia Davis. Mr. Davis was a member of Americus Church of Christ and owner of Discount Tire and Muffler for over 35 years. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 11, 2011, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel and at other times at the family residence, 212 Howard Johnson Rd. Pall bearers include Richard Loper, Terry Francis, A.J. Teal, Paul Ethridge, James Ethridge and Devin Gordon. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Elaine Davis of Americus, a daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Jonathan Dowdey of Americus; two sons and daughter-in-law, Todd and Melinda Davis of Americus and Jason Davis of Americus; a brother, James Davis, Jr. of Americus; three sisters and brother-in-law, Sandra and Buddy Dean of Americus, Ginny Gordon of Americus and Joy Trapp of Conyers; six grandchildren, Misty Davis, Lane Davis, Kaitlyn Davis, Olivia Davis, Tyler Davis and Cameron Dowdey. He was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Penn and a brother-in-law, Johnny Gordon.
