Thelma L. Blount, age 83, of 100 Cherry Laurel Trail, Americus, died at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center Saturday, December 26, 2015. A native of Louvale, she was born January 22, 1932, the daughter of the late Eugene and Jenny Moncus. Mrs. Blount was a beauty control consultant and a member of First Baptist Church of Americus. Graveside services will be held Monday, December 28, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Keith Parks and Rev. Raymond Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Barry and Tami Blount. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church, 221 S. Lee St., Americus, GA 31709. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Tami Blount of Americus and Robert and Tricia Blount of Americus; two sisters, Mary Alice Buchanan of Greenwood, SC and Gladys McAllister of Athens; three grandchildren, Carley McDonald, Sadie Blount and Adam Saint; and two great grandchildren, Kate Saint and Kylee Saint. She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Blount.
