Thad Minick, Jr., 69, of Preston, died Monday, April 17, 2017 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. He was born October 31, 1947 in Buena Vista to the late Thad Minick, Sr. and Julia Kisor Minick. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Marshall Lodge #188 F&AM in Preston, and Smith Lodge #85 F&AM in Richland. He was also an avid fisherman and loved to hunt. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Preston with Rev. Robert Orr and Rev. Raymond Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Preston City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Thad Minick, III and his wife Holly of Preston; daughter and son-in-law, Christy Spivey and her husband Shane Cobb of Vienna;; and two sisters and brothers-in-law: Linda and Jimmy Foreman of Parrott and Denise and Richard Willis of Americus. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Josh Minick, Jacob Minick, Emma Minick, Veronica McGilvray, Roger Spivey, Luke Spivey, and Damon Cobb; six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
