Obituary

Teresa Farmer Liles, 65, of De Soto, GA, passed away peacefully in her home, on July 15th, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, music, and a deep love for her family.

The visitation and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 18, 2026 in the fellowship hall at De Soto Church on Luke St. from 2 PM until 4 PM.

She was born in Dothan, AL to the late Billy Ray Farmer and Betty Sue Williams Farmer. Teresa was the second of five children. She grew up with a spirited heart and a wide array of passions that brought joy to everyone around her.

Teresa was a dedicated civil servant, committing 36 years of service to the United States Postal Service. Her career began in 1989 as a Post Master Relief (PMR). Through her hard work and leadership, she stepped into her first Postmaster position in March of 2006 at the Shellman Post office, later serving the community of Cobb and Plains until February 2015. Teresa then transitioned to the Leesburg Post Office where she served faithfully as a supervisor for 10 years until her well deserved retirement in 2025. Throughout her distinguished career, she also stepped up to serve as the officer in charge for Bronwood, Desoto, Plains, and Leesburg Post Offices, touching countless lives across South Georgia with her friendly smile and reliable service. Outside of her career, Teresa lived life with a vibrant, rhythmic energy. She had a deep love for music and showcased her talent playing keyboard in the band Stillwater. She was also an avid equestrian, finding great joy, camaraderie, and pride competing in western pleasure horse riding. Teresa also had an eye for muscle cars. At just 15 years old, she bought her very first car, a 1969 Camaro. Teresa spent many of her adult years working to bring her dream car back to life through a meticulous restoration.

Above all else, Teresa’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, always working hard for them and placing them at the center of her world.

She is survived by her two daughters: Abby Crenshaw and Kayla Goddard (Levi); and her cherished grandchildren: Halle Crenshaw, Landen Crenshaw, Kaylyn Styck, and Chandler Styck. She is also survived by her siblings: Mike Farmer, Starla McDonald (Monte), Donna Curles (Randy), and Jeff Farmer, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and former colleagues, who will miss her dearly.
