Tammie Edith Arizmendi, age 59, of Americus, died at her residence Saturday, October 14, 2017. A native of Atlanta, she was born February 6, 1958, the daughter of the late Elton and Edith Roebuck. Mrs. Arizmendi's Indian heritage was very important to her. She was Cherokee and adopted Creek Indian. She enjoyed crafting, spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and many adopted children. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Breezeway Mental Health, 100 Heads Way, Americus, GA 31709 or Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel, 142 Southland Rd., Americus, GA 31709 for funeral expenses. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa Flakes and Cody Everett of Leslie and Tracy and Bubba Peaster of Ellaville; two sons and daughter-in-law, Alex B. Arizmendi and Jeannie Alonzo of Americus and Johnny Arizmendi of Americus; a sister, Sybil Barnes of Montezuma; seventeen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
