Sylvia Veatch McCarty, 79, of Warner Robins, died Tuesday, October 11, 2016. A native of Lafayette, GA, she was born September 4, 1937 to the late William Roberson Veatch and Almedia Melviney Lawrence. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Warner Robins. A graveside service will be held Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Hugh DeLoach officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus. Survivors include her three sons: Brenton B. and Kay McCarty III of Ellaville, William E. and Carla McCarty of Warner Robins, and David C. and Shala McCarty of Lagrange; and her daughter, Janet M. and Mike Disney of Fort Valley; two brothers: Carl and June Veatch of Leslie, and Lewis and Rilla Veatch of Ellaville; and a sister, Barbara Jean Stewart of Dunwoody. In addition she leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel is in charge of these arrangements.
