Obituary

Mrs. Sylvia Ann Clark age 73 of Leslie passed peacefully at Phoebe Sumter Hospital on Friday October 25th, 2024 after an extended illness. She was born to the parentage of Thomas Edward Ness and Helen Virginia Curry Ness in York County Pennsylvania. After moving to Melbourne, Florida with her family as a teenager, she graduated from Melbourne High. It was in Melbourne that she met her husband of 55 years, Mr. Jack Edward Clark.

Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her parents, 2 younger brothers (Edmund and Bill), an older sister Geraldine Stanley, and a sister-in-law Janie Pope. She was also preceded in death by her loving in-laws Jack and Phyllis Clark to whom she was a devoted caregiver.

She is survived by her loving husband Mr. Jack E. Clark, her children Stephanie Clark (Rose Register) of Tifton, Ga, Jenny Clark of Ellaville, Ga, and Jack Clark II of Leslie, Ga. She also leaves behind her grandsons' Jackson Benjamin (Heather) of Ellaville, Ga, and Ridge Hatcher of Ellaville, Ga, who both loved her dearly. She also lived long enough to enjoy her great grandson, Luke Thomas Benjamin who she adored. She is also survived by her brother Larry Ness(Sue) of Melrose, Fl, a sister Chistina Ness of Palatka Fl, her in-laws Judy Braden (Cork) of Mississippi, Trudy Pollock (Curt) of Leslie, Ga, and Mike Clark(Susie) of Americus. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Clark worked many years as a supervisor at Davidson Textron, and at Lockheed Martin where she developed many lifelong friendships. She worked, until she no longer could, after the diagnosis of cancer. She battled like a warrior for 23 more years. Although she was small in stature, she was mighty, commanding, and tough as nails! She fought bravely until the very end! She leaves a giant void in the lives of all those who knew and loved her!

A celebration of life will be arranged at a later date.
