Susie Lee Blankenship, age 90, of Preston passed away Monday, December 27, 2021; at Four County Health and Rehab in Richland. Mrs. Blankenship was born September 2, 1931 to the late Jim and Minnie Jamieson. She was a Baptist by faith and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She worked in health care for many years. Susie dedicated her life to helping others. She always had a compassionate heart for people. She enjoyed being with and making memories with her family the most. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Orr officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at Macedonia Baptist Church and at other times at the home of Lou Heath 6467 Cass St. Preston, GA. Interment to follow the service at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers include her sons and grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Donnie & Lorraine Blankenship of Satsuma, Al. and Eddie Blankenship of Preston; daughter, Kay and Buddy Skellie of Richland; six sisters, Mattie Stapleton of Mt. Ula, NC., Lou Heath of Preston, Mary Pearce of Valdosta, Melba Burrell of Milledgeville, Barbara Nelson of Milledgeville, and Linda French of Evans; also surviving are six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Blankenship.
