Simona Gomez Castillo, 72, of Americus, died Monday, February 27, 2017 at her home. She was born November 1, 1944 in Edcouch, TX, to the late Adolfo Gomez and Paula Hernandez Gomez. She attended I Heart Church. She loved her family and Jesus, and was the rock of her family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roy Cobb officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Survivors include her husband, Fidensio Castillo of Americus; four daughters and sons-in-law: Isidra and Nick Garcia of Bowling Green, FL, Maryann and Ernest Parrott of Americus, Elizabeth and Juan Ramos of Homestead, FL, and Dorcas and Miguel Reyes of Plains; three sons and daughters-in-law: David and Elaine Castillo of Wauchula, FL, Abraham and Lucy Castillo of Sebring, FL, and David and April Cox of Americus. Also surviving are two sisters and a brother-in-law: Andrea and Silverio Mancillas of Chicago, IL, and Sandy Marez of Chicago, IL; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Avelino and April Gomez of Chicago, IL, and Adolfo Gomez of Homestead, FL; twenty-three grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
