Shayla Mathis Hobbs, age 47, of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Piedmont Hospital in Stockbridge. A native of Milledgeville, she was born to Hubert Guy and Jessie Mathis, Jr. on September 14, 1974. She had a passion for animals. Shayla loved her family and enjoyed being with them as much as possible.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022 at Desoto United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Eddie Braswell and Rev. Brenda Lawson officiating.

Survivors include her dad and step-mom, Guy & Kathy Mathis; one son and daughter-in-law, Jacob & Elizabeth Hobbs of Ashburn; a daughter Hayley Hobbs of Rebecca; long time partner, Kyle  Crownover; a sister and brother-in-law, Kayla & Donzell Watson of Rebecca; an aunt & uncle, Margaret & Ronnie Turner; also surviving are nieces, Jessica Mathis and Jordan Mathis and a nephew, Joshua Mathis.

She preceded in death by her husband Todd Hobbs and her mother Jessie Mathis.
