Sharon Markert Hartsfield Sharon Markert Hartsfield, age 68, of Americus, died on March 7, 2020 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Mrs. Hartsfield was born January 21, 1952 in Hawkinsville, GA, the daughter of the late John Edwin and Miriam Abernathy Markert. Mrs. Hartsfield was of the Baptist Faith, a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, and an elementary school educator in the Lee County School System and Southland Academy. She enjoyed trips to the beach, antiques, and gardening, but most of all she loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 45 years David Hartsfield, of Americus, one daughter and son-in-law, Lindsey and Jeromy Roberts, of Plains, and one son and daughter-in-law, David Kyle and Katelyn Hartsfield of Leesburg. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Merritt Hartsfield, Cason Hartsfield, Reid Hartsfield, Hudson Roberts, and Peyton Roberts along with her dog Charlie. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 2:00PM in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
