Sarah Delphia Alston, age 83, of 225 Hospital St., Plains, died at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center Friday, October 2, 2015. A native of Preston, she was born October 12, 1931, the daughter of the late Henry and Idolla Mincey. Mrs. Alston was a member of Enterprise Baptist Church and she loved puzzles, reading, the Atlanta Braves and her family. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 5, 2015, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Orr officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Lisa and Bob Montgomery, 536 Oak Ave, Americus. Survivors include three daughters and son-in-law, Neva Carter of Americus; Lisa and Bob Montgomery of Americus and Joy Cromer of Americus; a sister, Debbie Mincey Lang; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Robert Alston; two sons, Rob Alston and Ricky Alston; a son-in-law, Larry Carter; and a brother, Franklin Mincey.
