Roy Thomas Cobb, Jr., 44, beat ALS and gained the victory over it on November 14th. He is now running, dancing and singing worship at the top of his lungs in heaven with Jesus, the one who defeated death. "Where O death is your victory? Where O death is your sting?" 1 Cor. 15:55 Rev. Cobb was born March 30, 1974 in Columbus to Roy Cobb, Sr. and Deb Wilson Cobb. He was the Pastor of I Heart Church and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He studied Brazilian Jui Jitsu for ten years under Gustavo Machado and Ken Hudson and was a master plumber. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus. Pastor Frank Mullis, Rev. Raymond Smith, Rev. Tom Lawrence and Rev. Mark Williams will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery in Richland. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service, starting at 10:00 a.m. at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Survivors include his wife of twenty-six years, Sandra Cobb of Preston; daughter and son-in-law, Mara and Tyler Grantham of Preston; two sons: Tyler Cobb and Jacob Cobb, both of Preston; and his parents: Roy T. Cobb, Sr. of Richland and Deb and Bruce Watkins of Phenix City, AL. Also surviving are his sister and brother-in-law, Tina and Timmy Hester of Phenix City, AL; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Samantha Cobb of Richland; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Pat and Steve Green of Coventry, CT; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Michelle Keena of West Hartford, CT. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
