Rosella Clemons Grantham, age 92, of 114 Sullivan Dr., Americus, died Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. A native of Ben Hill County, Mrs. Grantham was born April 8, 1918, the daughter of the late William Barney and Annie Ruby Rogers Clemons. Mrs. Grantham was a homemaker, a member of Plains Baptist Church and the Moose Lodge. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 12, 2010, at 2:00 PM, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Steve Golden officiating. Entombment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Monday, April 12 at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel and at other times the home of Marlene and Clarence Cromer, 205 Hwy 27 East, Americus. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Clarence Cromer of Americus; a brother, Jack Clemons of Fitzgerald; three sisters, Ruby Clemons of Fitzgerald, Patricia Smith of Fitzgerald and Nadine Weir of Opelika, AL.; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great- great- grandchildren. Mrs. Grantham was preceded in death by her husband, James Davis Grantham; two daughters, Nelda G. Mathes and Vernelle G. Owens; two sisters and four brothers.
