Rona Mae Cromer, age 75, of 105 Grover Dr., Americus, died Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at her residence. A native of Greenville, AL, Mrs. Cromer was born March 23, 1935, the daughter of the late Milton and Wilmer Faye Jayroe. Mrs. Cromer was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses and loved her pets. Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 3, 2010, at 2:00 PM, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Elder Bill McDonald officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Sumter County Humane Society, 108 Industrial Blvd., Americus, Ga. 31719. Survivors include a brother, Mack Jayroe; four nieces, Tina Bellamy, Frankie Loper, Tammy Protho and Alicia Owen; two nephews, James Raper and Richard Loper and one grandchild. Mrs. Cromer was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Cromer; two sons, Roger Cromer and James Kenneth Ingram; a brother, Huey Jayroe and two sisters, Jeanette Loper and Edna Acreman.
