Robert E. Loper, 79, of Americus passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. Loper was born June 16, 1942 to the late Charles and Reola Loper in Pinehurst, GA. He retired from working with the Americus Fire Department after 28 years. Mr. Loper loved his kids and grandchildren and never met a stranger. He taught Sunday school at Bakersfield for many years.

Family will be greeting friends at 202 Rebel Rd. Andersonville, GA 31711. A private service will be held for the family.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Loper; one daughter, Kay Salter (Eric); four grandchildren, Jeffery Salter (Christina), Marlie Carmichael (Brandon), Kristin Stokes (Evan), and Michael Loper Jr.; four great grandchildren, Reid Salter, Grayson Salter, Noah Carmichael, and Dallas Stokes; and three dear friends, Al Junior Erkhart, Rick Davis, and Gary Underwood.

In leiu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Kindred Hospice.
