Robert Kenneth Ledbetter, 89, died Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Sumter Retirement Village in Plains. A native of Atlanta, he was born January 1, 1929 to the late Robert Ledbetter and Reva Carter Ledbetter. He was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church and a United States Air Force veteran. An avid fisherman, he also loved to gamble, and was a people-person. He loved his family dearly. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Calvary Episcopal Church. Survivors include his son, Bob Ledbetter of Americus; and five grandchildren: Ben Ledbetter, Gatewood Ledbetter, Thomas Ledbetter, Tyler Ledbetter, and Stephen Ledbetter. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to The American Cancer Society. Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
