Robert "Bob" Lee Hearon, Jr., age 77, of 169 Williams Rd., Plains, died at home Wednesday, June 8, 2016. A native of Preston, he was born November 20, 1938, the son of the late Robert Lee and Mary Campbell Hearon, Sr. Mr. Hearon was retired from the Department of Natural Resources where he was a Game and Fish Agent. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. Services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jim English officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Lisa and Zane Newman, 245 Pheasant Dr. Americus. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Sheriff's Youth Home, P.O. Box 1000 Stockbridge, GA. 30281 or Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Zane Newman of Americus; two sons, Mike Hearon of Smithville and Gary Hearon of Americus; a sister, Carolyn Dahn of Ashburn; seven grandchildren, Michael and Heather Hearon, Ginger, Chris and Blake Lee, Brittany Lightner and Jessica Knight; and also nine great grandchildren.
