Richard Neal English, 91, of Plains, died Monday, June 05, 2017 at Lillian Carter Health and Rehabilitation. He was born March 7, 1926 in Macon County to the late William Christopher English and Zethel Jones English. He was a member of Plains Methodist Church. He was a World War II Navy veteran that was wounded in action, and a Purple Heart recipient. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Lebanon Cemetery in Plains. The family may be contacted at the home of Brad and Teresa English, 582 Lamar Road in Americus. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Brenda and Wesley Taylor of Buena Vista; and two sons and daughters-in-law: Richard and Norma English of Plains and Brad and Teresa English of Americus. Also surviving is a sister, Norma English Aspinwall of Waycross; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Plains United Methodist Church, 301 W. Church St., Plains, GA 31780. Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel is in charge of these arrangements.
