Mr Ray Bruce Ansley, Jr. Mr. Ray Bruce Ansley, Jr., age 79, of 637 Highway 27 East, Americus, died November 6, 2009, at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. A native of Sumter County, Mr. Ansley was born September 27, 1930, the son of Ray Bruce and Harriett Rylander Ansley. Mr. Ansley was a member of First Baptist Church of Americus and was a past member of Life Underwriters Association. He was an insurance agent for Life of Georgia and American General for many years and he enjoyed renovating houses and became a real estate agent in later years. Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, November 8, 2009, at 3:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Lowell Layman officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, November 8, 2009, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Serving as pallbearers will be Grant Rowe, Alex Rowe, Rob Brown and Steve Brown. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Roy Peacock, Jr., John Ed Cordell, Gene Goodin, Ray Thompson, Billy Tissue, Edurado Jimenez and Buddy Wilbanks. Survivors include his wife, Rose Ansley of Americus; a son, Bruce Ansley of Miami, FL.; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Jack Rowe of Americus; a sister, Martha Ansley Brown of Americus; two grandchildren, Grant Rowe and Alex Rowe; seven great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
