Rachel Claire Hines Pryor Mrs. Rachel Claire Hines Pryor, age 87, of 116A Country Club Dr., formerly of DeSoto, died May 2, 2009 at her residence. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM, Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the DeSoto United Methodist Church cemetery with Rev. Scott Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the Leslie United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Serving as honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren. Mrs. Pryor, a native of Sumter County, was born January 20, 1922, the daughter of Ira Thornton Hines and Leola Laramore Hines. Mrs. Pryor was a member of Leslie United Methodist Church, an honorary member of the Junior Service League, a graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University and an exceptionally devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. In lieu of flowers and food, memorial contributions may be made to Leslie United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 116, Leslie, Ga. 31764; the DeSoto United Methodist Church Cemetery Trust Fund, c/o Mrs. Ed Faircloth, 148 N. Spring Creek Rd., Cobb, Ga. 31735 or to the League of the Good Samaritan, Magnolia Manor, 2001 S. Lee St., Americus, Ga. 31709. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Claire and Boyce Peeples of Leesburg and Cynthia Hines Pryor of Americus; a son, Spencer Pryor, Jr. of Oglethorpe, Ga.; a brother, Addison Harris Hines of Macon, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Spence, Charles, Oliver, Robert and Aaron Pryor, Tara Titshaw and Misty Peeples Jones; two great grandchildren, Olivia Pryor and Madeliene Pryor. Mrs. Pryors husband, Robert Spencer Pryor, Sr. and a grandchild, Robert Marshall Pryor preceded her in death.
