Quinton Wade Weldon, age 47, of 585 Upper River Road, Americus, died Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Crisp Regional Hospital. A native of Americus, he was born November 13, 1967, the son of the late E. L. "Tip" and Betty Weldon. Dr. Weldon was a member of Central Baptist Church. He graduated from Southland Academy in 1986 and then from the University of North Georgia in 1993. He attended the University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten and did his residency at Tallahassee Memorial in Tallahassee, FL. He returned to Americus in 2007 and then opened Southland Branch Family Practice in 2008. Dr. Weldon was the medical director at Magnolia Manor in Americus, GA and Buena Vista, GA, Lillian Carter Nursing Center and Sumter Retirement Village in Plains, GA. Dr. Weldon had offices in Americus, GA, Ellaville, GA, and Homerville, GA. He was also the team doctor for Southland Academy. Dr. Weldon enjoyed taking care of his athletes and all of his patients. He loved what he did and considered it a God given privilege to help people. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 22, 2015, at 2:00 PM, at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Myers and Rev. Hugh DeLoach officiating with burial to follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the family lodge, 1127 Old Andersonville Road, Andersonville, GA, on Saturday, March 21, 2015 and also on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at Central Baptist Church from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Quint Weldon Children's Fund at Citizen's Bank of Americus. Survivors include his wife, Lisa Weldon; a daughter, Ansley Weldon; three sons, Hunter Weldon, Taylor Weldon, and Parker Weldon, all of Americus, GA; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Maria and Oscar Howell, of Americus, GA, and June and Benny Whittle, of Americus, GA; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. Darrell and Connie Weldon, of Ringgold, GA, Bill and Diane Weldon, of Tallahassee, FL, Mike and Mickie Weldon, of Barnesville, GA, and David Weldon, of McDonough, GA; a mother and father-in-law, Carolyn and Frank McGaughey, of Washington, GA; as well as multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
