Phyllis Carlton Johansen, 91, of Americus, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at her home. She was born November 1, 1924 in Pasadena, CA, to the late Wayne L. Carlton and Gertrud Triskit Carlton. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Americus and a member of the Kappa Delta sorority. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, October 29, 2016 in the Chapel of First United Methodist Church of Americus. Survivors include her son, Brent & Carol Johansen of Cordele; two daughters: Trudy & Jim Griffin of Americus and Laurie & Chan Gailey of Clarksville; and a brother, Jim Carlton of Kalamazoo, MI. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Jayson & Shana Griffin, Jance & Dannie Griffin, Sara & Caz Earnest, Becky & Eric Oxford, Tricia & Steve Greer, Tate & Amy Gailey, and Andrew & Stacey Gailey; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
