Pauline McGowan Chavez, 90, of Americus, died June 4, 2026 at her residence.

Her memorial service, along with a zoom link, will be held at 104 Packing House Road, Americus, GA 31709 a later date.

A native of Clayton, AL, Mrs. Chavez was born to the late John and Ida McGowan. She married young and traveled around the world as a military wife. Pauline was a bus driver for the Rialto Unified School District in Rialto, CA for twenty years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading the Bible and tending to her plants. But most of all, Pauline enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren. She was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Americus.

In addition to her parents, and other family members, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Chavez, and sons, Patrick Keller, James Michael Keller, and Stephen Errol Keller, and a daughter Josephine Chavez Perez.

Mrs. Chavez is survived by two sons, John William Keller and his wife Laura and David Paul Chavez and his wife Chrissy; a daughter, Patricia Dianne Banales and her husband Alex; a sister, Donie McGowan Daley; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
