Obituary

Mrs. Paula Diane Dozier Adams, age 56, of 131 Holly Street, Leslie, Georgia, died February 22, 2010. Mrs. Adams, a native of Sumter County, was born the daughter of Edward Dozier and Mary Ann Barfield. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved gardening, fishing and was a true friend to everyone. She was a member of Leslie United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women of Thought Sunday School Class and a devoted church worker. Funeral services will be held February 24, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Leslie United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Bateman and Rev. Scott Tucker officiating. Music will be performed by Martha Usry and the Church Choir. Burial will follow at DeSoto Cemetery. Pallbearers include Billy Deriso, Larry McSpadden, Rusty Marshall, Ron Rees, Earl Sams and Edward Cross. The family will receive friends at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel February 23, 2010, from 6 to 8 PM and at other times 131 Holly Street, Leslie. The family suggest that memorial contributions be made to Leslie United Methodist Church, 116 Allen Street, Leslie, Ga. 31764 or Americus and Sumter County Hospice, P.O. Box 1434, Americus, Ga. 31709. Survivors include her husband, Michael Elliott Adams of Leslie; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Bradon Horne of Smithville; a son, Eddie Adams of Smithville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Susie and Mike Clark of Americus and Donna and Shelby Ray of Cobb; a sister-in-law, Margie Adams of Decatur; a granddaughter, Kaytlynn Meadow Adams and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials: The family suggest that memorial contributions be made to Leslie United Methodist Church, 116 Allen Street, Leslie, Ga. 31764 or Americus and Sumter County Hospice, P.O. Box 1434, Americus, Ga. 31709.
