Mrs. Myrtle Ruth Gregory, age 60, of 121 Dupree Road, died late Tuesday afternoon, April 21, 2009 at Sumter Regional Hospital. A native of Hanes City, Florida, Mrs. Gregory was born November 4, 1948, a daughter of the late William Thomas Sinns and Viola Baker Sinns. She was a loving spouse and mother and loved to cook. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, April 24, 2009 in Oak Grove Cemetery with President Willie Cooper officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, April 23 at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Ray Gregory of Americus; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Dukes and Timmy of Plains; three sons and daughters-in-law, Matt Murphy and Davina of Kinston, North Carolina, Jamie Gregory and Kristie of Ellaville, Joe Gregory and Terry of Americus; eight sisters, Ida Mae Nolin, Rosie Bracken, Martha Mathews, Shelby Gonsalves, Linda Irvin all of Kissimmee, Florida, Effie Barnett of Davenport, Florida, Mary Dell of Buena Vista and Joanne Harper of Albany; two brothers, Lewis Sinns of Buena Vista and Tommy Sinns of Kissimmee, Florida. Thirteen grandchildren, Rennee Murphy, Rusty Murphy, D. J. White, Chris Foster, Ashleigh Foster, Bradley Dukes, Brandon Dukes, Jennifer Gregory, Bobby Gregory, Kim Gregory, Emily Gregory, J. W. Gregory, Josh Usry and one great-grandchild, Gabriella Usry also survive. She was preceded in death by W. L. Sinns and Shirley Tello.
