Myrtle Louise Stanford Adkins, age 90, of Plains, died at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Saturday, July 20, 2019. She was born in Lumber City, October 30, 1928, the daughter of the late Ishmael and Lora Stanford. She was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Americus and a member of The Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling and her flower gardening. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at 10:00 AM at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Americus, with the Rev. Sam Maves officiating. Burial will follow at Leslie City Cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to service at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers include Julian Wells, Christopher Wright, Stan Jones, Jeff Wiseman, Brent Stanford and Howard Stanford, Jr. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 236 GA-27, Americus, GA 31709 Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Paula Williams of Americus, Brenda (Julian) Wells of Buena Vista; a sister, Loraine Jones of Plains; a brother, Howard Stanford Sr. of Americus and a son-in-law, Jeff Wiseman; three grandchildren; Aimee and Darrell Clower, Winn and Hannah Marchbanks, and Christopher and Lindi Wright; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Lora Wiseman and Glenda Wells.
