Mrs. Myra Pennington, age 86, of Americus, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Mrs. Pennington was born September 20, 1933 in Americus to the late Dennis Hall and Nettie Hall Pope. She was Baptist by faith. Mrs. Pennington was the pianist at Rehoboth Baptist Church for many years. She was married to Billy Pennington for 58 years until his death in 2011. A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Rev. Will Hall officiating. Visitation will be held at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel from 10:00-11:00 AM. Survivors include two sons, Billy Pennington of Americus and Terry(Jennie) Pennington of Americus; two daughters, Diane(Wayne) Smith of Opelika, AL. and Debbie(Terry) Crowe of Americus; nine grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pennington was preceded in death by her brother Jerry Pope and sister Etta Cromer.
