Melody Pritchard Halstead, age 57, of 442 Bob Dodson Rd., died at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Wednesday, May 6, 2015. A native of Americus, she was born March 11, 1958, the daughter of the late J. D. Pritchard and Lillian Whittington Crosby, who survives her. Melody was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She also enjoyed fishing and cooking. Melody was a loving daughter, mother and grandmamma and her family was her life. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Earl Dunmon officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, May 8, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, C/O Ann Harris, 1801 Rose Ave., Americus, GA 31709. Survivors, in addition to her mother, include two daughters and sons-in-law, Victoria and Jonathan Scott of Americus, and Melissa and Tyler Gary of Ellaville; a son and a daughter-in-law, Christopher and Lauren Halstead of Plains; two sisters, Joy Davis and Jerrie Sellers, both of Americus; a brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Ann Pritchard, of Ellaville; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Gavin, Cole, Ethan, Sylvia, Leigha, and Alex; Step-Father Roy Crosby, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Halstead, and a grandson, Austin Gary. Cemetery: Oak Grove Cemetery
