Mattie Ruth "Nanny" Wilson Mattie Ruth "Nanny" Wilson, age 91 of Americus, died on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. Mrs. Wilson was a native of Forsyth Georgia born August 21, 1927, the daughter of the late Lee Andrew and Mary Wiggins Wilson. Mrs. Wilson was a member of Morningside United Methodist Church and loved her family dearly. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Dr Dennis Stalvey officiating. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel, and at other times at the family residence 801 Douglas Drive Americus, GA. Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Linda and Roy Barker, of Montezuma, Cheryl Smarr, of Mock, Bobbie and Robbie Welch, of Americus, and Danita, Rocky LeBlanc of Whiteville, TN; Four sons and two daughters-in-law, Danny Smarr, of Americus, Pete and Kim Wilson, of Abbeville Al, Micky Smarr, of Conyers, and Ricky and Robin Smarr, of Cordele. Also surviving are three sisters, Ellen Herndon, of Smarr, Nadine Wilson, of Forsyth, Willene Wilson, of Forsyth, Two brothers and one sister-in-law, Gordon and Bobbie Wilson of Spokane WA, and Talmadge Wilson, of Montezuma. eighteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
