Mattie Everett Blankenship, age 91, of 2213 Meadowbrook Dr., Tifton, died at Rehab Center of South Georgia, Tuesday, June 28, 2016. A native of Preston, she was born April 26, 1925, the daughter of the late Henry and Ella Everett. Mrs. Blankenship was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and a homemaker. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Litch officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends July 2, 2016, one hour prior to the service at Macedonia Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until 11:00. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 5716 Macedonia Church Rd, Preston, GA 31824. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Blankenship Vinson of Cuthbert and Kathy Blankenship Tynes of Tifton; a sister, Nina Bell Everett Blankenship of Dawson; five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis David Blankenship and a son, Danny Blankenship.
