Mary Edna Popwell, age 86, died at the Medical Center of Central Georgia, Monday July 20, 2015. A native of Plains, she was born September 7, 1928, the daughter of William Thomas Kenmore and Lonie Gunnels Kenmore. Mrs. Popwell was a member of Central Baptist Church, an avid reader; the Facebook queen; Sumter Humane Society supporter and she also loved visiting the residents at Magnolia Manor. A Memorial service will be held Thursday July 23, 2015 at 2:00PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Hugh Deloach officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel and other times at the family residence 856 Hwy 27 East Americus. Survivors include her husband, Julius Popwell of Americus; three daughters and sons in law, Debra and Bobby Cummings of Macon, Mitzi and Jimmy Sanders of Americus, Lisa Becker of Americus; one son, Bill Winter of Americus; five grandchildren, Robin Cowart, Mandy Alford, Jimbo Sanders, Bob Cummings, and Wade Cummings; ten great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
