Mary Lillian Johnson Clark passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2011. Mary Lillian was born in Sumter County, Georgia on December 17, 1929. Her parents were Walter Leon Johnson and Ruth Clark Johnson Harris. Her father passed away when she was three years old. She graduated from Union High School and received a Teacher's Certificate from Georgia Southwestern College. She began a teaching career, but decided to be a homemaker and stay home to raise her three girls. She was Co-Founder of Brickyard Plantation Golf Club and was an avid golfer. She also enjoyed landscaping and planting flowers. She was a gifted artist and enjoyed painting home scenes. She was a lifelong member of Leslie United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and Choir Director for many years. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, William Norwood (Billy) Clark; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Danny Enloe and Debra and Charles Sykes; two granddaughters, Becky and Kenneth Raybon and Jenny and John Owen; three great grandsons, Zach Raybon, Will Raybon and Jake Stanfield; four sisters-in-law, Sara Webb, Eleanor Wilson, Shirley Lashley, Betty Hargrove; two brothers-in-law, Jimmy and Charlotte Clark and Tom and Doris Clark. She was preceded in death by a daughter Wanda Clark, a grandson William Clark and a brother B.H. Harris, Jr. Funeral Services will be held at Leslie United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 18, 2011, with Rev. Guy Mathis and Rev. Troy Fripp officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation and a Celebration of Life Luncheon will follow at Brickyard Plantation Golf Club. Memorials may be sent to Leslie United Methodist Church, PO Box 116, Leslie, GA 31764 or the DeSoto Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 100, DeSoto, GA 31743 or a charity of your choice.
