Mary Jane Carey, age 90, of 2001 S. Lee St., died at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center Wednesday, October 15, 2014. A native of Middleton, NY, she was born January 20, 1924, the daughter of the late Nicholas H. and Julia Ann Heater Kuhlman. Mrs. Carey was a homemaker and a former member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Middleton, NY. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 17, 2014, at 10:00 AM, at the Martha McDonald Moore Chapel at Magnolia Manor. Burial will follow at Andersonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The League of The Good Samaritan, Magnolia Manor, 2001 S. Lee St., Americus, GA 31709 or to United Hospice of Cordele, 708 E. 16th Ave., Cordele, GA 31015. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Lucy M. Kohler of Goshen, NY; a friend who was like a son, Gaylord Fuller of Montague, NJ; and special friends, Yvonne and Noel Goggins of Americus.
